OUR STORY

Held annually, Miss Trans Global United Kingdom is a non-profit community event that empowers transgender women from across the United Kingdom by providing a platform for their diverse heritage. The event aims to raise awareness about sexual healthcare for transgender women.

OUR MISSION

While transgender icons like Laverne Cox grace magazine covers, many in the community face a harsh reality. Social and healthcare systems often exclude transgender people, leaving them out of crucial conversations about sexual health.

The current focus on LGB health often overlooks transgender experiences, pushing them to the margins. We aim to create an inclusive space for open dialogue about transgender sexual health needs.

Discrimination is a significant barrier. One-third of transgender individuals delay or avoid preventive care due to fear. Sexual health education frequently fails to address transgender bodies and identities, leaving a critical gap in knowledge.

Through a series of digital and physical campaigns, our events will promote HIV and Monkey Pox awareness, encourage PrEP use and testing, and combat misinformation surrounding sexual health.

LEADERSHIP AND EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP

During the Leadership and Empowerment workshop, we would focus on sexual-healthcare through the guidance of sexual health clinics. It will strengthen the participants and audience understanding of their personal healthcare responsibility and simplified HIV testing information. It will help to train our participants on HIV and sexual health care which would be broadcasted to our followers on social media.

ADVOCACY AND ACTIVISM

Our organisation is advocacy and activism driven, that is why we use education, inclusion, and visibility as tools of raising awareness about pressing issues such as inclusive sexual-healthcare for our community. An inclusive sexual-healthcare is required for the transgender community to function as productive members of society. This is why we use advocacy and activism channels of information and communication to improve the understanding of healthcare and social issues faced by our community.
